Students, families, staff, board members, and community partners gathered to celebrate the beginning of a project that has been years in the making. The new facility will provide a long-term home for SCCA and support the continued growth of its Pre-K through 12th grade program.
“This moment represents more than just a new building,” said Superintendent Kylie Holley. “It reflects the commitment of our families, staff, and community to providing students with a high-quality, student-centered education.”
The first phase of construction will include a modern classroom building designed to serve all grade levels, with dedicated wings for elementary, middle, and high school students. The campus will also feature a gymnasium and cafeteria, creating a space where students can learn, collaborate, and grow together.
Future phases of the project will include additional athletic facilities, such as fields and a field house, further enhancing opportunities for students both inside and outside the classroom.
The project is being financed through a tax-exempt revenue bond, a common approach for public charter schools in Georgia, allowing SCCA to build independently without relying on local tax dollars.
SCCA is proud to partner with a strong team of professionals to bring the project to life, including:
- Studio 8 Design (Architects)
- CGM Construction (General Contractor)
- Public-Private Partnership Project Management (Owner’s Representative)
- Development Authority of Bainbridge and Decatur County (Bond Issuer)
Construction is expected to be completed by July 1, 2027, with students anticipated to begin the 2027–2028 school year in the new facility.
As the project moves forward, SCCA will continue to share updates and milestones with the community.
