Type: State Commission Charter School for grades K - 12 with a Bright From the Start Pre-K Program
School Information: Spring Creek Charter Academy is a tuition-free public school that does not require any enrollment criteria other than residence in the attendance zone, which includes Decatur, Grady, Miller, and Seminole Counties. Students are chosen by lottery, with preference given to families with children already in attendance and employees’ children. Academic classes are taught by certified personnel and follow standards established by the Georgia Department of Education. Students participate in all testing required by the state of Georgia and meet the same minimum levels of achievement. Students are also required to meet additional goals outlined in the school’s charter beyond those minimum levels of achievement. SpringCreek Charter Academy is a Title I school.

Promotion Policy:
To enter 10th Grade: 5 Carnegie Units
To enter 11th Grade: 11 Carnegie Units
To enter 12th Grade: 17 Carnegie Units
To Graduate: 23 Carnegie Units
Method of Course Grade Calculations:
Final Grades K - 8: Each nine week grade will be averaged to create a final grade for the course at the end of the school year.
Final Grades 9 - 12: Final grades and course credit are awarded by the semester rather than the year. Final grades are calculated and 0.5 course credits are earned at the end of each semester. Final semester grades are calculated by weighting the two 9-weeks grades and the EOC or final exam as follows:
1st 9-weeks of semester grade = 40%
2nd 9-weeks of semester grade = 40%
EOC or Final Exam = 20%
Method of Computing GPA:
Numerical Unweighted GPA: Spring Creek Charter Academy does not add any weighting to numerical grades on the transcript.
Cumulative Weighted GPA: The Cumulative Weighted GPA includes all courses taken in grades 9 - 12. For this GPA, 0.5 points are added to the 4.0 scale for Dual Enrollment courses taken in academic areas. To determine the GPA, all course credit is added together and divided by the number of credits attempted.
- Overall Class Rank is based on the Cumulative Weighted GPA and includes all students in the grade level.
Method of Determining Valedictorian/Salutatorian:
- Val – #1 based on rank; Must have been enrolled at SCCA for their final 4 semesters of high school
- Sal – #2 based on rank; Must have been enrolled at SCCA for their final 4 semesters of high school
Senior Superlative and Junior Marshal Criteria: The Spring Creek Charter Academy (SCCA) Senior Superlatives and Junior Marshals are students who embody the SCCA Way in alignment with the SCCA Mission Statement and Core Beliefs. The mission of SCCA is to prepare students for life-long success by partnering with families and communities to create a safe, nurturing learning environment that engages and challenges students, fosters creativity, and instills integrity and leadership skills that inspire students to reach their full potential. Therefore, the SCCA Senior Superlatives and Junior Marshals demonstrate thte following:

Eligibility Requirements:
- Students will submit a resume detailing the above criteria to use for voting purposes.
- The resume will be cumulative from grade 9 through S1 of grade 12 for Senior Superlatives and grade 11 for Junior Marshals.
- All high school teachers and the high school student body will vote: Teacher vote will count 70% and student body vote will count 30% .
- The top 15% of the class will be selected based on the total number of students in the class.
- Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Honor Graduate (Academic) Criteria:
- Based on Cumulative Weighted GPA from grade 9 through S1 of grade 12
- Val – #1 based on rank; Must have been enrolled at SCCA for their final 4 semesters of high school
- Sal – #2 based on rank; Must have been enrolled at SCCA for their final 4 semesters of high school
- In the event of a tie, the numerical GPA will be used to break the tie.
- Cum Laude – 3.6 and above
- Magna Cum Laude – 3.8 and above
- Summa Cum Laude – 4.0 and above
